Welcome to Spica Orbital, the official Spica Publishing blog!

After a number of technical and software issues with the main website and the old forums, it has been decided to reboot the whole of the Spica Publishing domain. There are three areas that we need to address: the main Spica Publishing website, the forums and the re-introduction of a Spica Publishing blog. We’ve had all of these up and running before – some successfully, others not so much – but the general consensus is that we need to update the look and feel of the site and forum and to include a new blog.

Spica Publishing Website

The Word Press theme for the main website will be updated to reflect the look, feel and colours of the new forums. This is a work in progress and will take some time to complete, so please bear with us while we set this up.

Spica Publishing Forums

The forums have already been upgraded:

  • The forum style is we_universal, a clean, modern forum style;
  • The forums are now hosted in their own subdomain of the main Spica Publishing domain name;
  • The forum software is release 3.1.6, which is the latest version of phpBB3 that was released on 12 September 2015;
  • The forum software will be checked and updated regularly to ensure that Spica Publishing is always using the latest version of phpBB 3.1.x;
  • A schedule of backups will be introduced and adhered to.

At present there are a number of public forums available related to Spica Publishing’s products. User who are registered on the old forum are invited and encouraged to sign up on the new forum, which can be found here.

Spica Orbital Blog

The new “Spica Orbital”¬†blog has been set up and will be updated once a month as a minimum, and probably more frequently when necessary. We hope that you find the new blog a useful source of information and news about Spica Publishing.

Spica Publishing at DriveThruyRPG.com

We will also be tidying up our pages over at DriveThruRPG.com but, as they are generally not too bad, they can wait a while.

That’s all for this update – see you soon, if not sooner.
